Wanyama has been absent for a long time but returned to action during Tottenham 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Emirates FA Cup.

Wanyama was absent from the first team due to a knee injury sustained since last November.

Victor Wanyama said: “The only thing I could do is work extra hard and make sure I’m doing all the right things to get back on the pitch and help the team.”

The player said he is focused on getting back on the right track for Tottenham as he prepares for another tough challenge in his career.

The return of Victor Wanyama will further boost Tottenham midfield and will also create more options for Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham’s 2-0 loss at Celhurst Park mean they are out of the competition and will be shifting their focus primarily on the Premier League.
