The lead at the top of the table of the Superliga Argentina has been eliminated after second placed Defensa y Justicia defeated Argentinos Juniors to close the initial three points gap.

Racing Club has been on the helm of affairs since last year however their recent loss to Boca Juniors paved way for Defensa to bridged the gap.

Racing Club were totally outclassed by River Plate last weekend, as the host prevented Racing club from getting a result on the road.

Goals from Marquez and Castro ensured a great comeback win for Defensa after Argentinos Juniors had taken the lead early in the second half.

Coach Beccacece knew a win would eliminate the gap between themselves and Racing Club.

The win for Defensa has opened up the title race between Racing Club and Defensa y Justicia.

Third place team, Boca Juniors are 10 points adrift of the two teams at the top while River Plate sit seventh with 28 points.
