Hamburger SV shifted there antention to the DFB-Pokal after there disappointing loss over the weekend as Ozcan’s 54th minute strike proved to be the match winner against Nurnberg.

Hamburger SV were never the favourites in the encounter, and playing against a Bundesliga side, it was never seen as easy clash.

Hamburger SV looked the better side in the first half dominating more of the proceedings than Nurnberg.

It was a tale of Bundesliga record holders against Bundesliga strugglers.

Despite the dominace by Hamburger SV, the goals failed to come. Nurnberg were tight at back stopping more of the attacks from Hamburger SV forwards.

With the kick off of the second half, it was a matter of another one horse race as Hamburger SV continued to push more players upfront.

It eventually paid off when Ozcan managed to roll the ball into the net of Nurnberg.

Hamburger SV came back from a disappointing loss to Arminia Bielefeld over the weekend as they could not take the advantage to tighten there stands at the top.

Nurnberg were forced to a goalless draw by visiting Sv Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

However playing against Hamburger SV, they could not manage their game plan.

Although Nurnberg were not bad at all, but there attacks cannot be compared to Hamburger SV.

Speaking after the match, Hamburger SV goal keeper Pollersbeck said: “We showed real passion tonight and more than made up for the missing players. I’m so proud of the team”.

Pollersbeck was not shy to speak on his team’s victory against a Bundesliga side.

Despite missing alot of stars, Hamburger SV managed to get the win.
