Injured Manchester city star, Benjamin Mendy is set to return to Manchester city first team in their clash with Burton Albion in the Carabao cup.

Mendy was sidelined after he sustained a knee injury back in November.

But the frenchman has since returned to training amd Manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will be among the travelling players to face Burton Albion.

Manchester city won the first leg by thrashing Burton by 9-0 to put themselves in the final of the Carabao cup.

Other players that will be missed in city squad include Vincent Kompany who had a muscle problem and will be out of action.

During the pre-match conference Guardiola said; “I would say with the results we have done last two years, we have not missed him too much but I would say we have missed him a lot. “My feeling is he can give something extra.

Hopefully, in the last part of the season and in the future we can use him. “He pushes from the outside on the left, he is unstoppable.

Especially in the last third, he is so clever. He is clever when he does those kind of actions.

Manchester city are already through to the next round after thrashing Burton Albion by 9-0 in the first leg.
