Spotify recently updated their mobile app through Google Play Store and the interesting thing is they are still supporting devices running Android Marshmallow. This surely is a move to cover as much as they can because even in 2018 there still active smartphone users who use devices with Kitkat and and Marshmallow.

The update started rolling out before Novemver 1 prior to the deadline for their beta/alpha channels. If spotify continues to support android marsmallow, it shouldn’t be a bad thing rather it is a move towards covering other connected users.

Although as is stands right now majority of smartphone users own devices with Nougat and Oreo with little owning Pie. Android Pie has not yet recieved full support from developers and manufacturers instead they still focus on Oreo and Nougat.

Spotify is a music streaming service, a service competing with apple music, google play music and others.
