14 Chromebook Laptops Will No Longer Receive Linux App Support




Chromebook laptops run the linux based Operating system called the Chrome OS, the chromebook laptops are mostly used in schools. The chromebook laptops were limited to apps by Google, however google has allowed the use of other apps. The chromebook laptops were first introduced in 2011 with manufacturers like Acer and Samsung producing the first chromebook laptops for commercial use. In march this year Google had a patnership with Acer to produce the chromebook Tab 10, a pc that is expected to rival Apple’s lower priced ipad tablet. The chromebook Tab 10 has an improved resolution of 2048 x 1536 and a display 9.7-inch, it also came with a stylus pen. Google introduced android into chromebook PCs to help in reshaping the performance level, chromebook PCs running android apps are working perfectly and stable.

With the release of new apps by google, some chromebook laptops have become too old to run new apps. However Google recently added support for regular linux apps. The chromebook laptops that may no longer receive apps include

Released on November 2015

Released on July 2015

9. Acer Chromebox CXI2
Released on May 2015

10. Acer Chromebook 15
Released on April 2015

Released on February 2017

Released on May 2015

Released on February 2015.

These series of chromebook laptops will no longer receive new apps from google. If your laptop fall into this category of laptops listed above you can consider getting a new one or upgrading to a newer version that’s if your hardware can run the latest version.
